This year's bloom was fairly good. Yes, I would have liked even more new hybrids. The results of GA3 treatment on 2010 seed were inconclusive. There was very little first year germination, which is typical. Potentially I will try a longer soaking time with this year's seeds.
Seed set was excellent (it had been relatively poor the previous 2 years). 51% of the 640 crosses produced over 5700 seeds.
Of this year's new hybrids I quite like 05-EP-2 with it's pale yellow styles. 05-GQ-2 also had pale styles like it's sibling 05-GQ-1 which gave beautiful bloom again this year. It would seem this pattern comes from the common parent 01-PH-1.
I was quite intrigued by 06-AV-1 and 06-AD-1 though overall they are "just" purple and blue respectively.
05-BL-4 was damaged, but towards the end it opened enough to give a good impression of what it would be like on perfectly formed flowers.
